Vagrant Spawns Density, Signs I Hate SallyVagrant has announced they will launch Density, a new heavy music imprint that will house the same staff but focus on the darker side of rock. The first release is I Hate Sally, a thrash metal band from Ontario that will release their US debut, Don't Worry Lady June 12. With the creation of Density, the staff now feels they have the freedom to sign a wider array of artists.
"We already have some bands that are pretty damn heavy, but creating Density gives us the latitude to put out just about anything that comes from the metal or heavy music community," says label Vice President and Co-Founder Jon Cohen. "It's another way for us to grow the company without compromising Vagrant's core identity. I Hate Sally is just the first of many great bands we look to work with through this new venture."
I Hate Sally formed in 2001 and previously released a full-length album in Canada on the Toronto based label Underground Operations. The band will kick off their first major tour of the US with Atlanta punk band the Chariot in May.

The Killers, Interpol and Queens Of The Stone Age are set to headline KROQ's Weenie Roast y Fiesta.
The Los Angeles radio station's annual event with a newly expanded name takes place May 19 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California.
Also on the bill are The Bravery, Peter, Bjorn and John, Linkin Park, Korn, Bad Religion, Social Distortion, Silversun Pickups, Rise Against, Tiger Army, 30 Seconds To Mars and Plain White T's.
Proceeds from the event will go to several local charities including Heal the Bay, the Surfrider Foundation and Aids Services Foundation Orange County.
Tickets go on sale Saturday (May 5) via Ticketmaster.
